World's Highest Valve in Masjed Soleyman

TEHRAN -- The world's highest valve, made by Iranian experts, is being installed in Masjed Soleyman Dam, reported the Central News Bureau. According to the report Arak Car Manufacturing Company has manufactured five huge valves for the dam. The diameter of each valve is 27.5 meters and each weigh 270 tons. The valves are 23.55 meters high and 13.25 meters in diameter.

The installation of the valves is estimated to be completed by the end of the current Iranian year (beginning March 21). Masjed Soleyman Dam with 177 meters height is located 25 kilometers north-east of Masjed Soleyman city, Khozestan Province. With the completion of the dam, an annual 3,700 million kilowatts per hour of water power energy will be added to the country's power production capacity.
